Radar level sensor, ILT-C01, 100 mm - 5000 mm, G 1/2, 4 - 20 mA, M12 4-pin, -40°C to 100°C, housing CrNi steel, max. 25 bar The ILT free-beam radar level sensor enables non-contact level measurement, even through plastic vessel walls. The free-beam radar for level measurement emits electromagnetic waves that are reflected by the surface of the material to be measured. The reflected signals are received and analysed, providing information about the level. Up to two additional switch points can be integrated to enable further switching outputs, e.g. for overflow and/or dry run protection. Thanks to its compact design and easy handling, the model ILT radar sensor is ideal for measuring applications in industrial environments and in mobile working machines. It has been prepared for the requirements of mobile working machines and offers high-precision measurements at temperatures of -40 to 100 °C. Thanks to metal shielding, the sensor operates, interference-free, at field strengths of up to 100 V/m and remains reliable even with vibrations of up to 40 g and shocks of up to 100 g. The model ILT is particularly safe in operation, even under difficult conditions such as dust, moisture and heat. The non-contact measuring principle, combined with a maintenance-free design, ensures low total cost of ownership.

About Radar level sensors

Radar level sensors measure without contact: the free-radiating ILT sensor sends a radar signal onto the liquid surface and calculates the level from the transit time. Because nothing is immersed in the medium there are no moving parts, no wear and no deposits on the sensing element. The measuring range runs from 100 to 5000 mm, housing and process connection are stainless steel 1.4401/1.4404 with a PEEK antenna and a G 1/2 male thread.

What matters when choosing

• Output signal: 4 - 20 mA for long cable runs and PLC connection, 0 - 5 V for short distances and direct display units.
• Series: ILT-C01 and ILT-C05 differ in signal evaluation, limits and process connection are identical.
• Mounting position: vertical above the surface. Internals and vessel walls inside the beam cone create false echoes.
• Limits: up to 25 bar, -40 to 100 °C, protection class IP 67, supply 8 to 36 V DC.
• Connection: M12 plug. For setting the device without opening it, the adjustment magnet is available as an accessory.

Typical applications

• Level measurement in tanks with aggressive or fouling media.
• Measurement through plastic vessel walls, without opening the vessel.
