About Radar level sensors

Radar level sensors measure without contact: the free-radiating ILT sensor sends a radar signal onto the liquid surface and calculates the level from the transit time. Because nothing is immersed in the medium there are no moving parts, no wear and no deposits on the sensing element. The measuring range runs from 100 to 5000 mm, housing and process connection are stainless steel 1.4401/1.4404 with a PEEK antenna and a G 1/2 male thread.

What matters when choosing

• Output signal: 4 - 20 mA for long cable runs and PLC connection, 0 - 5 V for short distances and direct display units.
• Series: ILT-C01 and ILT-C05 differ in signal evaluation, limits and process connection are identical.
• Mounting position: vertical above the surface. Internals and vessel walls inside the beam cone create false echoes.
• Limits: up to 25 bar, -40 to 100 °C, protection class IP 67, supply 8 to 36 V DC.
• Connection: M12 plug. For setting the device without opening it, the adjustment magnet is available as an accessory.

Typical applications

• Level measurement in tanks with aggressive or fouling media.
• Measurement through plastic vessel walls, without opening the vessel.
• Storage and dosing tanks in chemical and water treatment.
• Applications where floats are ruled out because of deposits.
