Pressure Booster
The SMC pressure booster raises the available pressure beyond the supply pressure of the network. The devices of the VBA10/11A and VBA2#A/4#A series provide a higher working pressure locally, without having to bring the entire network to that level.
The range comprises more than 120 items, including air tanks of the VBAT series and an ATEX category 3 version. The boosters are used when individual consumers require more pressure than the compressed air network provides.

Typical Applications
Pressure boosters are used when individual consumers such as clamping fixtures, presses or test rigs require a higher pressure than the existing compressed air network supplies. An upstream air tank of the VBAT series buffers the pressure fluctuations. An ATEX category 3 version is available for potentially explosive areas.
