About Blind stopper
Blind plugs close an unused threaded port on manifolds, valves and air service units pressure tight. They come with a taper R male thread in four sizes from R 1/8 to R 1/2 and hold a working pressure up to 10 bar.
What matters when choosing
- Thread: R 1/8, R 1/4, R 3/8 or R 1/2. The taper R thread seals in the thread itself, a parallel counterpart is not suitable for this.
- Working pressure: max. 10 bar across all four sizes. In more heavily loaded lines a metal plug belongs in that position.
- Width across flats: AF 10 to AF 22 depending on thread size. As the plug is made of plastic, tightening torque has to stay limited.
- Material polyamide (PA 6): strong, tough, abrasion resistant and light, with a stated temperature range of -40 °C to 90 °C.
Typical applications
- Closing unused outlets on compressed air manifolds and distribution rails
- Shutting off individual ports on air service units and valve blocks
- Sealing unused connections on cylinders and housings
- Pressure testing pipe runs where individual outlets are blanked off
- Maintenance work where a consumer is removed and the threaded bore remains
The four sizes are made from polyamide (PA 6) and come from German production. The material combines high strength, toughness and impact resistance with low weight.
