About Unions

Malleable cast iron unions join two threaded pipes so that the line can be separated again later without turning the pipes. The range runs from Rp 1/4 to Rp 3 and is available with female thread on both sides or with female and male thread. Threads follow ISO 7-1.

What matters when choosing

• Thread 1 as the connection size to the line: Rp 1/4 to Rp 3 female.
• Thread 2 on the opposite side: Rp 3/8 to Rp 2 1/2 female or R 1/2 to R 1 1/2 male, depending on whether the union meets a pipe or a device.
• Sealing principle: version 330 seals flat against an NBR gasket, with an operating temperature stated as -20 °C to 200 °C.
• Material: black malleable cast iron B350-10, design symbol A, the same across all 71 articles in this group.
• Installation point: a union belongs where the line will later be taken apart, so ahead of valves, filters, meters or pumps.

Typical applications

• Break points in compressed air ring mains ahead of air treatment units and take-offs.
• Heating and sanitary installations built from threaded pipe.
• Tying in pumps and valves that have to be removed for servicing.
• Retrofitting into existing pipe runs where no pipe can be rotated any more.
• Industrial pipework that calls for detachable joints rather than welds.

Threads comply with ISO 7-1 and the fittings follow DIN EN 10242, with black malleable cast iron B350-10, design symbol A, as the material. Maximum temperature and maximum operating pressure must not occur at the same time.
