About Swivel nuts
Coupling nuts clamp the hose inside the fitting body and carry the mechanical part of the joint. They are bought as spare parts and as an addition to existing push-in fittings, and the group lists 20 sizes from M7x0.75 to M16x1. Working pressure reaches 18 or 25 bar depending on the version.
What matters when choosing
- Thread from M7x0.75 to M16x1, mostly female, with one size supplied as male M10x1. It has to match the existing fitting body exactly, otherwise the clamp does not hold.
- Hose size: for tube O.D. 4 to 12 mm and hose I.D. 2 to 10 mm. Both figures belong together, because the nut is matched to the wall thickness of the hose.
- Material nickel-plated brass or stainless steel 1.4404. The stainless parts are made without any seal material and are intended for aggressive media.
- Max. working pressure of 18 to 25 bar. The stainless versions sit at the upper end of the range.
- Operating temperature of -20 °C at the low end and 200 to 300 °C at the top. It is usually the real reason to take the seal-free stainless nut instead of the brass one.
Typical applications
- Spare part supply for existing push-in fittings in compressed air installations
- Reusing fitting bodies already in place when hoses are replaced
- Hose lines on machines, fixtures and test benches
- Lines carrying aggressive media, where the stainless version is chosen
- Plant sections under high thermal load that call for seal-free connections
The nuts are made from nickel-plated brass or stainless steel 1.4404, and the stainless parts work without seal material, rated to 200 °C. The 20 items in this group come from Italy and Germany.
