Hexagon head bolt DIN 931 / ISO 4014, M 5x50, hexagon 8 mm, shank 34 mm, steel 8.8, zinc-plated

When thin sheets and small add-on parts are bolted together, every millimetre of head height counts. This hexagon head bolt M 5x50 to DIN 931 has a head only 3.5 mm high and is tightened across flats of 8 mm. Of the total length of 50 mm, 16 mm carry the thread while the remaining 34 mm form a plain shank. The shank bears against the drilled hole and takes shear loads instead of passing them through the thread flanks. The material is steel of property class 8.8 with an electroplated zinc coating.
