About Welding nozzles

Welding nozzles sit at the front of the welding insert and determine how much gas mixture leaves the torch and in what flame shape. The bore assigns each nozzle to a welding range, and the group covers material thicknesses from 0.5 to 30 mm. All versions are made of copper and are specified for a 17 mm shank diameter.

What matters when choosing

• Welding range: from 0.5 - 1 mm up to 20 - 30 mm, referring to the thickness of the workpiece. An oversized nozzle burns through thin sheet, an undersized one fails to put enough heat into thick sections and the weld stays cold.
• Thread: M8x1.0, M9x1.0, M10x1.0 or M11x1.0, all female. It has to match the welding insert in use, with the larger welding ranges carrying the larger thread.
• Size BG: 1 to 8. This code pairs nozzle and welding insert and is the quickest way to check that the two parts belong together.
• Gas consumption and operating pressure for oxygen and fuel gas are stated per nozzle. These figures set the regulator, otherwise the mixture ratio of the flame will be wrong.
• Gas type: listed per item and it has to match the fuel gas supply available on site.
