About Round cylinders

Round cylinders produce linear motion where installation space is tight and profile mounting is not needed. The group covers piston diameters from 8 to 40 mm and strokes from 10 to 600 mm. Working pressure tops out at 10 bar.

What matters when choosing

• Piston diameter: From 8 to 40 mm. Together with the applied pressure it defines the force, so it comes first in sizing, ahead of the stroke.
• Stroke: 10 to 600 mm. Long strokes on a small piston load the rod in buckling, and a separate guide next to the cylinder pays off in that case.
• Function: Double-acting or single-acting. Single-acting versions need only one line and return by spring, double-acting versions deliver force in both directions.
• Working pressure: The lower limit is 1 to 2 bar depending on version, the upper limit 10 bar. Part of the range also states a set pressure of 0.6 to 0.8 bar, which matters for slow feed movements.
• Connection: M5, M5x0.8, G 1/8 and G 1/4 are available. The port has to suit the tube cross section, otherwise it limits the speed that can be reached.

A large part of the 356 items is built to ISO 6432, which makes replacement by cylinders from other suppliers straightforward. NBR is listed as sealing material, and production takes place in China and Italy.
