About Check valves

A swing check valve lets the medium pass in the flow direction only and stops the line from draining back when the pump is switched off. The group covers DN 10 to 100 at operating pressures of 8 to 16 bar. Face-to-face length runs from 43 to 169 mm depending on the bore.

What matters when choosing

• DN 10 to 100 mm with G 3/8 to G 4 threads to DIN EN ISO 228-1: bore and thread follow the existing pipework.
• Max. operating pressure 8 to 16 bar: the permitted pressure falls as the bore grows, so on the larger valves the design pressure of the line needs a second check.
• Sealing: soft-sealed versions use NBR, metal-sealed versions keep any elastomer out of the flow path. The choice follows the medium and the tightness required at closing.
• Body in brass or gunmetal: gunmetal is used mainly on the larger bores, brass on the smaller ones.
• Length 43 to 169 mm: the installed length has to fit the run, especially where the valve sits between two fixed connections.

The body is brass or gunmetal, the soft-sealed versions are sealed with NBR and the threads follow DIN EN ISO 228-1. The disc closes by gravity, so the valve is intended for horizontal installation and liquid media, and it is produced in Italy and Germany.
