About PVC hoses

PVC hose carries compressed air, water and oil-bearing media wherever a flexible, low-cost line is enough and fixed pipework would be overkill. The group is rated for operating temperatures from -20 °C to 60 °C and runs from bulk hose on the roll to made-up assemblies with a connection thread.

What matters when choosing

• Inner and outer hose diameter: the bore sets the air volume, the difference to the outside diameter sets the wall thickness. The range runs from 6.2x4 to 17.6x13 mm.
• Pressure rating: the permitted pressure is stated per item as max. operating pressure at 23 °C and falls as the bore grows. On the PVC special pneumatic hoses it drops from 40 bar at Ø 6.2x4 to 28 bar at Ø 17.6x13.
• Construction: cover, core and reinforcement separate the types. Versions braided with impregnated special fabric take higher pressures, soft PVC versions stay flexible in the cold.
• Operating temperature: minimum -20 °C to -15 °C and maximum 60 °C. For outdoor runs or cold stores, check the lower figure first.
• Length and routing: hose length, roll length and minimum bend radius decide how the hose is cut and how tightly it can be routed. Made-up items are available with G 3/8 male or G 1/2 male.
