When the finish has to run along the workpiece rather than in circles, an orbital motion is of no help. This straight-line sander works with a 4 mm linear stroke at 4,000 rpm and weighs 0.75 kg, so the scratch pattern stays aligned.

• The straight 4 mm stroke produces a directional finish that follows the working direction.
• A rate of 4,000 per minute keeps material removal controllable during fine sanding.
• The rectangular pad works right up to steps and edges.
• Air consumption of 0.11 m³/min is low enough for operation on a small compressed air supply.

Operating principle

The air motor drives the pad in a straight back-and-forth movement. Unlike an orbital sander it keeps a constant direction, so the finish runs in a line. The quoted rate is a no-load figure.
