About Union elbows

L fittings take the hose line out of the port at a right angle and save space next to cylinders and valves. The group covers male threads from R 1/8 to R 1/2 and tube outside diameters from 5 to 12 mm. Maximum working pressure is 18 to 25 bar depending on the version.

What matters when choosing

• Thread R 1/8, R 1/4, R 3/8 or R 1/2 male follows the port in the cylinder, valve or manifold.
• Tube size: for tube O.D. 5 to 12 mm and hose I.D. 3 to 10 mm. Both dimensions have to match the hose in use, the fitting clamps on the outside diameter.
• Material nickel-plated brass or 1.4404 stainless steel: the stainless parts are meant for aggressive media and high temperatures, brass covers the everyday pneumatic installation.
• Max. working pressure 18 to 25 bar: the brass version is rated 18 bar, the stainless version 25 bar.
• Operating temperature -20 °C to 300 °C: the upper figure applies to part of the range only and should be checked item by item.

• Cylinder and valve ports where a straight outlet has no room
• Hose routing on grippers and moving axes
• Valve terminals and manifold blocks with closely spaced ports
• Lines carrying aggressive media, where the stainless version is chosen
• Hot areas such as tool and mould making, where brass fittings reach their temperature limit

The 1.4404 stainless parts are made without any sealing material, which suits media that would attack an elastomer seal. The remaining fittings are nickel-plated brass, country of origin is Italy.
