About Contact pressure gauges

Contact pressure gauges show the pressure mechanically and switch an electrical limit contact as soon as a preset value is reached. The 32 versions in this group share a G 1/2 male connection, case diameters of 100 to 160 mm and measuring ranges up to 600 bar. One instrument therefore replaces the pairing of a gauge and a separate pressure switch.

What matters when choosing

• Max. measuring range: 0 to 600 bar. Choose the full scale value so the switching point falls in a well resolved part of the scale rather than at its edge.
• Diameter: 100 to 160 mm. The larger case reads better from a distance, the smaller one saves room on the gauge board.
• Thread: G 1/2 male throughout. Where the measuring point differs, adapt it with a pressure gauge fitting.
• Medium temperature: from -20 °C up to 80 to 200 °C depending on version. With hot media the figure given for the individual article applies.
• Electrical data: rated voltage and switching capacity are listed per article and have to match the circuit connected, which matters most with inductive loads.

All cases are made of CrNi steel 1.4301, with production in Poland and Germany. The limit contact works as a magnetic snap-action contact that opens the circuit when the first preset value is reached and closes it again at the second.
