Level sensor, RLT-1000, sliding tube 250 mm, 4 - 20 mA, G 1, right-angle connector DIN A, cylinder float 25 mm, -25°C to 80°C The model RLT-1000 level sensor has been developed for measuring the levels of liquids. The stainless steel used is suitable for a multitude of media, such as, for example, oil, water, diesel and refrigerants. A permanent magnet built into the float triggers, with its magnetic field, the resistance measuring chain built into the guide tube. The entire assembly corresponds to a 3-wire potentiometer circuit. The measured resistance signal is proportional to the level.

About Level sensors

Unlike a float switch, level sensors deliver a continuous measured value instead of a switching signal. On the RLT-1000 a ring float moves along a resistance chain inside the sliding tube and generates a 4 - 20 mA standard signal from it. Sliding tube and housing are made of stainless steel 1.4571, the connection is G 1 male with an angled DIN A plug.

What matters when choosing

• Sliding tube length: 150 to 400 mm. It defines the measuring range, which cannot be extended later.
• 4 - 20 mA output: the two-wire output is insensitive to cable length and voltage drop, the supply is 12 to 32 V DC.
• Float: cylindrical, 25 mm, NBR. The medium has to be compatible with NBR and must not gum up, otherwise the float jams.
• Mounting position: vertical. Tilted mounting falsifies the reading.
• Limits: up to 16 bar, medium temperature -25 to 80 °C, protection class IP 65.
