Some machines run their main pump nearly unloaded for part of the cycle, yet the pilot valve still needs pilot pressure. That is why this size 16 valve has both pilot oil supply and pilot oil return routed externally, at 180 l/min nominal flow with a ±10 V command value.

Applications
This version makes sense on power units with a fixed pump for the control circuit and a variable pump for the working movement. It also keeps the pilot stage supplied in accumulator systems where system pressure swings widely. Both control ports must be connected during installation or the valve will not shift.
