A linear spool forces the superimposed controller to drive small moves with very small command values. The 4WRLE16W1-180SJ uses a progressive characteristic instead, releasing little flow in the lower command range and opening sharply only towards the stop. Infeed moves and rapid travel can therefore share the same analogue resolution, at 180 l/min nominal and an 800 l/min limit.

Applications

A progressive characteristic pays off on axes that travel fast and then position finely within the same cycle, such as bending machines and drawing presses. Because the fine range is built into the spool, the controller manages with a simple command ramp. For purely linear behaviour, Bosch Rexroth offers the 4WRLE series with other spools.
