5/3-way solenoid valve, pilot-operated, closed centre, G 1/4, 600 l/min, 230 V AC - E.MC

A 5/3-way valve drives a double-acting cylinder in both directions and decides what happens in the third position. The pilot-operated valve from the E.MC RV series switches with two 230 V AC coils and passes up to 600 l/min at its G 1/4 port. With neither coil energised, the spool sits in the centre position. All ports are then blocked, so the cylinder stops where the signal drops out, with air trapped in both chambers.

Advantages

• Valve body and spool in aluminium alloy, HNBR O-rings, pilot unit in engineering plastic.
• Flow rate of 600 l/min at 3.9 mm nominal diameter and 12 mm² effective area (Cv 0.67), enough air for brisk strokes without the valve throttling them.
• Operating pressure of 1.5 to 8 bar with a 12 bar test pressure, and the air does not need to be lubricated.
• Service life of at least 40 million switching cycles, roughly 11,000 operating hours at one cycle per second.
• IP65 protection to DIN 40050 and insulation class F, each coil draws 4 VA.

Applications

• Simple controls that run directly on 230 V AC without a power supply.
• Holding the piston position when both control signals drop out at the same time.
• Medium-size cylinders in fixtures and feeders, piped in G 1/4.

A matching 230 V AC replacement coil, type T1, is available separately. For wiring with plug-in connectors, E.MC lists connection cables in 0.3, 0.6 and 1 m lengths.
