Malleable iron cast fittings in black steel, non-galvanized, is the classic fitting series in connection series in piping construction. Our malleable iron cast fittings are characterized by high mechanical strength and standardized fitting technology. Working minimal temperature = -20 °C, 25 bar. Working pressure for temperature range from -20 °C to 120 °C: 25 bar. Working pressure for temperature range from 120 °C to 300 °C: 20-25 bar.

About Reducing bushes

Reducing pieces join two pipe threads of different size in a single part, so no adapter pair with an extra sealing point is needed. The group combines female threads from Rp 1/4 to Rp 2 1/2 with male threads from R 3/8 to R 3. The fittings are cast from black malleable iron B350-10.

What matters when choosing

• Thread 1: the female side runs from Rp 1/4 to Rp 2 1/2 and defines the smaller end of the transition.
• Thread 2: the male side runs from R 3/8 to R 3. The combination of both sides gives the reduction step, which should stay within what the line tolerates before flow velocity rises too far.
• Thread standard ISO 7-1: the tapered male threads seal in the thread itself, so sealant and tightening allowance have to be planned for.
• Material: black malleable iron B350-10, design symbol A, a grade specified for mechanical load in pipework.
• Length and across-flats size: in crowded manifolds the length of the reducer decides whether a pipe wrench can still be applied.
