About Temperature control couplings

Tempering couplings connect and disconnect heating and cooling circuits while the plant is running. They work up to 15 bar operating pressure at medium temperatures from -20 °C to 160 °C, and the listed media are air, water, oil and vacuum.

What matters when choosing

• Start with the connection type. Threads run from M8x0.75 male to G 1/2 male, or R 1/8 male to R 3/8 male, hose barbs suit hose bores of 9 to 19 mm, and tube versions take tube outside diameters of 8 to 14 mm.
• The shut-off function decides whether medium escapes when uncoupling. Versions with free flow, with one-sided and with two-sided shut-off are available.
• Body shape follows access at the mould. Straight, 45° and 90° angled versions are offered, with overall lengths from 24 to 360 mm.
• The material is brass 2.0401 or nickel-plated brass. The seal is PTFE-coated FKM and carries the stated medium temperature of up to 160 °C.
• Nominal bore of DN 6 to 9 mm sets the flow in the circuit and has to match the coupling system already in use.
