About Tube insert

Reinforcing sleeves are pushed into the end of a plastic tube before the compression fitting is tightened. They support the tube wall from the inside so the cutting ring cannot collapse the tube and the joint stays tight over time. The group covers tube outside diameters from 4 to 18 mm at operating pressures up to 60 bar.

What matters when choosing

• Tube outside and inside diameter: the sleeve is defined by both figures, for example 6/4 mm or 15/12 mm. For a 12 mm outside diameter there are two wall thicknesses, 12/9 and 12/10 mm, so the measured clear bore of the tube decides.
• Operating pressure: max. 60 bar. The figure applies to the sleeve itself, while the permissible system pressure also depends on the tube and the fitting and is usually lower.
• Material: bright brass across the whole group. The sleeve therefore matches the compression fittings of the light series in material, avoiding a mix of metals at the sealing point.
• Temperature: 150 °C is stated as the upper limit. In practice the plastic tube usually sets the service temperature, not the sleeve.
